King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon has a disturbing dream that only Daniel can interpret. God used the dream to warn the King to repent of his pride or he would take drastic measures to humble him severely and publicly. King Nebuchadnezzar refused to repent and he hardened his heart in pride. After 7 years of judgment, the King recognized the God of Heaven as the true God.

Babylon had a new king named Belshazzar and 30 years had passed since we have heard anything from the story of Daniel. The king threw a huge party that was interrupted by a mysterious hand writing an encrypted message on the palace wall. As before, Daniel was called in to interpret the message and deliver the tragic news to King Belshazzar that his kingdom was about to fall. The Meades and the Persians overtook Babylon that very night.

This was Daniel’s biggest test. He was 80 years old and had now served 3 kings with integrity and ability. What he didn’t know was that his biggest test was still in front of him. This would be the defining moment of his life and the story that we tell when we tell his story. But Daniel was ready, and by God’s grace he finished strong.
